June is the hottest month of Pakistan but even in this month the thermometer rarely touches the temperature of 25° C or 77° F. This is a very comfortable temperature for the visitors. During the season of summer the temperatures of the plains area of country rises up to 40° C (104° F). This is the main cause behind the popularity of this hill station among the citizens of Pakistan. Before the independence this was a favorite hill station of the British rulers. It was a best resource for them to spend their summers in the subcontinent.

Winter is very cold here and snow fall occurred more often. Event under the snowfall this place remains very gentle as compare to the northern part of the country. In the winter season the temperature of Malka-e-Kohsar Murree does not fall down to the -3° C or 27° F. On the other hands Skardu got the same height but in the winter season its temperature falls down to -18° C. It is just because Skardu is located on the northern area. The altitude of Murree is 7,000 feet but it stays normal in winter season.

Moisture in the Air of Malka-e-Kohsar Murree:

This city gets enough snow and rains due to its amazing location. Rains fall here more often in both summer and winter season. The weather system of Murree collects more clouds and rains with the snow in winter. Every month this city faces the rains and that impact positively to the thick forest of these hills. On the monthly basis this area gets the average rains of below 3” (inches) except the month of May and November. Annual rainfall is calculated as 64” inches. March is a month of winter season which gets the most rains so March is the wettest. On the other hands August is a month of summer which gets most rains so it is the wettest in summer. This city is the wettest one in Pakistan which is located on the slopes of Himalayas. Murree and surrounding hills are covered with the pine trees.
