History of Faizabad Rawalpindi with hotels, map and bus stations

Faizabad is situated on the connecting point of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Thousands of peoples pass this point on a regular basis. As we all know that Islamabad is a twin city of Rawalpindi, later one it becomes the Capital city of Pakistan. It is basically an interchange now which is situated on the Islamabad Highway and Murree Road or Benazir Bhutto Road. This way leads you to the Murree hill station of the Punjab province.

In the year 1960 a signal was present to control the traffic in between Rawalpindi and Islamabad. As we told you earlier that is a key point in between the Capital city Islamabad and Rawalpindi. With the passage of time the flow of traffic increased over the Faizabad Rawalpindi, so the Prime Minister of that time Mr. Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif planned to construct an interchange over this point to accommodate the traffic and made Faizabad signal free.

So in the year 1997 Prime Minster of Pakistan Mr. Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif inaugurated this interchange and it became operational in the year 1998 for the traffic and road users. Currently this point is serving more than 50,000 vehicles per day. It is a joint and connecting point of Murree Road (Benazir Bhutto Road), I.J.P Road and the mighty Islamabad Highway.

A child protection and educational institute the Faiz-ul-Islam Madrasa is situated at its entrance towards Rawalpindi. The home of a famous political leader of PML-N Ch. Nisar is situated next to it on the left side.

Faizabad bus stop:

As you know it is connecting point of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, there is a stopover for the passengers who travel from Pindi to Islamabad on regular basis. So two bus stops are present on both the sides of this point, these are intercity bus stops.

Long routes bus terminals:

As this place is blessed with the extra ordinary position in between Capital, Rawalpindi and on the Islamabad Highway, you could find many big and small bus terminals. These terminals offer you the services for the lower Punjab, Murree, and Muzaffarabad and for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Skyways Rawalpindi and Faisal Movers are few old and famous terminals which are situated here.

On the same way towards Pir Wadhai, you can find more bus terminals for long routes. From Pir Wadhai you can find the services from Karachi to Skardu.

Chagi Monument:

Chagi Mountain was the place in which Pakistan tried its Atomic capabilities. So as you take left turn from Rawalpindi towards Islamabad, you will find the Chagi Monument at your right side. This Chagi Monument was made to pay the tribute to Pakistani Scientist of Atomic Energy and Pakistan Army.

Furniture and Granite tiles market:

No buildings and markets are present after the Faizabad interchange towards Islamabad. On the hands you could find big markets and residential area in the Rawalpindi side. You could find big furniture markets along the Granite tiles shops. Few car showrooms are also present at this place.

CNG Stations and Petrol Pumps:

You could find a couple of CNG stations along few petrol pumps in the Faizabad Rawalpindi. Kandan CNG, HASCOL CNG, PSO petrol pump and a Shell petrol pump are present there to serve you.

Important Buildings:

Few important building and institutes are situated in the Faizabad Rawalpindi and the office of Survey of Pakistan is one of them with few Army installations. Rawalpindi Polytechnic Institute is also few minute away from it, so the Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agricultural University. You could find a branch of MCB Faizabad here as well.
